Turn a selected video range into an image sequence

Open your video
Choose a browser-supported local file. VixFrame reads it through a temporary local URL and does not upload it.

Set the range
Enter the start and end timecodes, or move the playhead and use Set current for either boundary.

Choose the interval
Select Seconds or Frames and enter the spacing. The estimate shows how many images the current range will request.

Range capture and consecutive capture are different
Use range capture for sampling
A start time, end time, and interval are best for thumbnails, datasets, documentation, and long sections. One range can request up to 500 images.
Use following frames for a short burst
Frames after current captures the current visible image plus as many as 120 following FPS-based positions. It is useful around one moment rather than across a long range.
Plan for browser memory
High-resolution PNG sequences can become large. VixFrame warns as in-tab memory use grows; download and clear completed batches before starting another large job.

Interval extraction questions
Can VixFrame extract one image every second?
Yes. Choose Seconds as the interval unit, enter 1, and set the start and end timecodes for the range you want.
Can it extract every N frames?
Yes. Choose Frames and enter the spacing. VixFrame converts that spacing to time using the detected or manually selected FPS.
Why is there a 500-image range limit?
Captures and thumbnails remain in the current tab's memory. The limit helps prevent a single browser task from allocating an unexpectedly large image collection.
